Welcome to Victoria Park State School
Victoria Park State School, in South Mackay near the picturesque Queens Park Gardens, caters for Prep to Year 6 students. Since opening in 1926, Victoria Park State School has maintained high levels of student academic achievement. High expectations are placed on student work and behaviour. This is reflected in our students’ academic achievements and the high regard the wider community has for the school. A range of cultural experiences and opportunities is offered to students including brass, woodwind and string ensembles and choral groups. Victoria Park also has a strong reputation in school sport with many students participating and excelling in a variety of sports.
Victoria Park is renowned for its innovative use of technology, being the first Mackay state primary school to introduce a one-to-one laptop program. Students across the school are now using ipads, with Year 5 and 6 students using laptop computers in the delivery of their curriculum.
Students have the opportunity to participate in a school based garden and Cooking program as part of their curriculum during the year.
Parent involvement in the school is valued through the Parents and Citizens Association and the School Council. Parents are welcome to volunteer and be involved in the school.
At Victoria Park traditions are valued and modern teaching styles embraced. Victoria Park State School is a great school.
